I remember sitting on the balcony, watching the sun slowly sink behind the charcoal colored hills, a million thoughts were rushing through my head: I've made it, I'm here, I wish Leila was here, my Mom, Dad, Grandma... I couldn't believe I was in Rome, I've dreamed of it once before, but never in a million years did I expect to get there.  I take my life for granted quite often and maybe I complain about miniscule things, however, I am thankful for the many places I've been able to travel to and am thankful for all of the people who helped me get there, without them I'd be sitting on some beach, watching the sunset somewhere else.

My trip was by far one of the most amazing, with a few bumps along the way, we once again defeated Europe!  We started in Madrid, which might I add was probably the least friendly city on Earth, with the most beautiful parks and most amazing museums.  It was sad to say the people were un-friendly, it would have been a much different experience otherwise, however we were on vacation duh of course it was still wonderful.  I'm still in the process of uploading photos of Spain, which encompasses 50% of my memory card, the gardens, the art, the parks.  We got to see a lot of amazing art including: a Fra Angelico, a Goya, a million different Picasso piecies, a few Dalis and one very extraordinary tapestry.  So all in all Spain was pretty amazing!

Five days after arriving in Spain, which took us 2 days to get to, we hopped on a strange airplane at thee strangest airport and took off for Florence.  Immediately after arriving in Florence we were greeted at our hotel by the owner, who was probably the most helpful human on Earth, Lorenzo.  He got us settled, talked to us a bit then showed us up to the second floor to our room.  I had a balcony, a view of the Duomo and everything in the universe was right once again.  I couldn't believe it, I was in Tuscany probably every little girls dream.  It was late and there was some weird parade going on so we decided to sleep and wait till the morning to explore.  The next few days were amazing, filled with lots of walking, lots of awe-ing and lots of calorie intake.  Florence is probably one of my favorite places on Earth for reasons being: large aromatic roses everywhere you go, amazing food, beautiful scenery and probably the nicest people out of everywhere we've been.

Five days after arriving in Florence it was off to Rome by train, we were heartbroken to leave Florence but knew we couldn't stay forever.  The train ride was crazy, if you've ever been on a plane, train or long automobile ride with me you'll know my eyes are glued to the windows.  I saw so many little towns, sheep, horses, cows, bridges, broken down castles, fields of grapes, anything you associate with Tuscany picture it.  We finally arrived in Rome and our cab driver gave us a little scenic tour, we saw the Olympic stadium, a castle, the Vatican, the Pantheon, my heart was beating so fast, we were here, finally, Rome!  The next few days we saw all of the sights, but probably the most amazing was the Coliseum.  We saw it from afar, slowly getting closer as our double decker bus sped around the corners.  Brandon and I just looked at each other in amazement.  You can never really fathom it until you're standing underneath the arches waiting to get in.

Our trip was crazy and probably one of the best we've been on.  We probably won't be going back to Europe for a year or so, we'll hopefully be taking on America.  In a million years the two of us never ever dreamed we'd be doing the things we've been doing and seeing the places we've saw, were so lucky to have each other and everyone else who helped us get here.  Thanks for always helping us and letting us dream big, I hope one day we all get to see it together!!

xx
